Why Support Collect for Kids

52,650 Students in FCPS are Eligible for Free or Reduced Priced Meals

Collect for Kids is working to efficiently provide students with the school supplies necessary to succeed. We can turn $1 into $3 dollars of school supplies and provide a student with a new backpack filled with school supplies for about $20.

A Robust and Connected Group of Partners Makes Collect for Kids Work.

The entire effort, which involves representatives from 21 partnering entities, resulted in significantly more students receiving backpacks and quality school supplies to start the school year than ever before. While maintaining the autonomy and passion of each organization is an integral part of Collect for Kids, so is collaboration and economy of scale. In 2014, our partners served nearly 6,000 students more than in 2013 – and we’re currently serving about 30,400 students in Fairfax County.
